Educational/Professional Background

B.A. in Anthropology and Geography and an undergraduate certificate in Geospatial Information Analysis from the University of Florida

Research and Teaching Interests, or Professional Field

My current thesis research focuses on geospatial techniques and social networks within maroon archaeology, but I also study how various processes, like sea level rise and racism, impact the field of archaeology

Experience as A Graduate Student at FSU

The FSU community and the great support system that I get from the Department of Anthropology has been vital to my success so far. Additionally, I appreciate the diverse learning opportunities that FSU has to offer year-round.

Future Plans/Aspirations

After I graduate from FSU in May 2021, I plan to pursue a PhD in Anthropology and continue my archaeological research on maroon communities in Louisiana. Eventually, I want to become a professor so that I can continue to teach the next generations of scholars while also making tangible change within local communities through archaeological research.
