Biography

Dr. Lisa Liseno is an Assistant Dean of The Graduate School at FSU, where she serves as the Director of the Fellows Society, Director of the Program for Instructional Excellence (PIE), and the Advisor of DIRECTO, the Diversity and Inclusion in Research and Teaching Organization, which was honored to receive the Mary B. Coburn Organization of the Year Award in 2020.

 

Dr. Liseno has given international and national presentations on pedagogy, higher education, and diversity and inclusion initiatives, and received grants for pursuing research in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. She also received the Seminole Faculty/Staff Leadership Award in spring 2019 for her work with FSU graduate students.

 

Prior to working in the Graduate School, Dr. Liseno was a faculty member for many years in Florida State’s Academic Center for Excellence, a learning center housed in Undergraduate Studies. She received a bachelor’s degree from Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin, where she double majored in philosophy and journalism. She then earned a master’s degree in philosophy from Northern Illinois University, and a Ph. D. in philosophy from FSU.

 

As a graduate student at FSU, she served as a Teaching Assistant, Instructor, and Undergraduate Advisor in the Department of Philosophy, and earned an Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award for her instruction. She also continues to teach philosophy courses as an adjunct instructor at Florida State University.

 

Dr. Liseno is grateful to work with the Fellows, and looks forward to continuing collaborating with them to find new ways to expand their leadership and impact on the FSU community and beyond!

 

 

 

Carley Robertson

Biography

Carley Robertson is a PhD candidate in Literature, Media, & Culture in the Florida State Department of English. Prior to coming to FSU, she received a MA in English from Clemson University and a BA in English with a minor in Linguistics from Mississippi State University. Her current research explores issues of gender in the literary marketplace, theories of editorship, and women's labor, while engaging with scholarship on the nineteenth-century literary marketplace across genres. During her time at FSU, she has received several prestigious departmental awards, including the Edward H. and Marie C. Kingsbury Fellowship Award, the Pridmore Distinguished Fellowship in Literary History, and the Sassaman Award for Graduate Critical Writing.
