I am interested in the religious and philosophical foundations of hope, and especially how hope is reimagined or recalibrated in the face of disillusionment, disenchantment, and disappointment. I primarily focus on how revolutionaries in post-revolutionary moments overcome disillusionment, and in my writing and teaching I hope to help students, activists, scholars, and the general public to cultivate resilient postures toward the world around them.
