Educational/Professional Background
Originally from a rural farm town, in 2015, Christian graduated with his B.S. in Finance. After working in the private sector, he returned to university and in 2018 received his M.S in Teacher English as a Second Language. While completing his graduate degree, Christian conducted research in Finland and Minnesota, comparing the development of Year 8 students' college and career readiness skills. Before joining Florida State University's International and Multicultural Education program, Christian taught for three years in China.
Research and Teaching Interests, or Professional Field
Christian's research interests include the growth of international schools, the differences in schooling experience between native speakers and English language learners in English-medium international schools, and the negotiation of identity for English language learners attending international schools. Additionally, Christian is interested in education policy borrowing and college and career readiness efforts.
