Educational/Professional Background
Teresa holds a BA in German Studies with a minor in Gender Studies and an MA in Gender Studies with a concentration in Performance Studies from the University of Arizona. Teresa also graduated from the Dell’Arte International School for Physical Theatre. Teresa has trained with Augusto Boal, the San Francisco Mime Troupe, and Cornerstone Theatre.
Teresa worked with the educational children’s theatre Stories That Soar! from 2003-2013 as an ensemble member and as Education Director. Her essay “Performing Monkeys in Rococo France” was selected as the Young Scholars Graduate Award winner at the Southeastern Theatre Convention in 2020.
Research and Teaching Interests, or Professional Field
Her research focuses on nationalist pageantry, affect, and labor. Her training background is in movement and physical theatre. She also specializes in devised, festal, and site specific theatre.

She feels fortunate and grateful to get to study at one of the top-ranked Theatre programs in the country. She appreciates the support and challenges from her professors. They are all excellent and have helped her grow.
