Educational/Professional Background

Bachelor’s in Social Work from Florida State University Master’s in Social Work from Florida State University Graduate Certificate in Project Management from Florida State University I previously have worked in both public schools and higher education institutions in various roles, including Project Management, Disability Services, K-12 Substitute Teaching, and Child Welfare Research.

Research and Teaching Interests, or Professional Field

My research focuses on emotional regulation, empathy, and resiliency development through reading and the influences of trauma and mental health on learning. I am interested in utilizing mixed methods interdisciplinary research to understand the complexities of a child's well-being in the academic setting. My research also seeks to combine primary school pedagogy and curriculum development with mental health interventions to enhance trauma-informed classrooms. My teaching interests are focused on project management in the non-profit setting, research design, statistics, child welfare, and school social work.
