Educational/Professional Background
I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English at Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, GA in 2011. I was hired with Broward County a Public Schools in 2012 as a Reading teacher and have taught reading to 9-12 over the last 9 years. In 2015, I earned a Masters of Science degree Reading/ESOL. I am currently a Reading Coach for my school and I am working on a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership as an aspiring administrator.
Research and Teaching Interests, or Professional Field
One day I would like to complete a doctoral degree and study a topic entitled, “Overworked and Underachieving: How a less intense work schedule produces quality teachers and close achievement gaps.” I also am interested in the four day work week, work-life balance, justifiable teacher income, and increased student performance.
