Educational/Professional Background

I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics with a minor in Business and a Master of Science degree in Community Psychology with an emphasis on Black psychology and multicultural mental health from Florida A&M University (FAMU). Previously, I have worked for two Fortune 500 companies where I held analytical positions in the finance sector, which supported the goals of company shareholders. Most recently, I served as an adjunct instructor at FAMU in the Department of Psychology.

Research and Teaching Interests, or Professional Field

I was a 2020 FAMU/FSU PURPOSE fellow. As a fellow, I trained among a diverse cohort of fellows in research to focus on social justice in education with the long-term goal of increasing the diversity of the doctorate in education science. I have co-authored one manuscript and one book chapter, which were published at the top of 2021. I currently have another manuscript accepted under final review. I like to think that my research interests uniquely address social issues through intersecting education, psychology, and economics. My mission is to help educate communities out of poverty. If effectively educating the community on economics (by way of appropriate, culturally sensitive pedagogical practices), they could be liberated out of poverty.
